A good design is imperative if you want better rankings for your website!

It’s not at all a bad idea if you have the best web designers working for you who can create complex designs and put them on the web site because that might not work in every situation. An artful, decorative web site might or might not pan out well with the audience. Internet is still a medium of information exchange so any element that hampers free flow of information might prove to be suicidal for your web site.
